Advice on what to do and where to go during your vacation

On arrival at Louis Villa you will be provided with an information pack.

We have several good contacts on the Island who will be happy to provide additional local information about places of interest, i.e. the 18th Century Fort in the Cabrits National Park, Trafalgar Falls, Boiling Lake, scuba diving and site-seeing plus many more attractions.

Our Representative is always on hand to provide assistance/guidance in arranging transport to cater for all your needs on the Island.  If you need a local cell phone this can be provided.

Arriving at the Airport and the Journey to Louis Villa

On arrival at the airport, please factor in at least 30 minutes or more for getting through customs, collecting your luggage, filling out car rental paperwork including a temporary driving licence before you leave the airport to begin your journey to your final destination.

We recommend that we arrange your transfers from the airports or Ferry Terminal in Roseau to Louis Villa especially if your flight arrives late in the afternoon or after 4.30pm , as driving in Dominica can be very challenging especially if you are not 100% sure of your final destination.

Our Representative is always contactable via cell or email to make prior arrangements to book a taxi for you and your party to be collected from the airports or ferry terminal, alternatively you can hire a taxi as soon as you leave customs.  Transfer costs from the Melville Hall airport to Louis Villa will be in the region of $90 US, from Canefield DCF $30 US and from ferry terminal $35 US. The journey time will take approximately 1 hour to 1 hour 45 minutes, depending where you are coming from.  We strongly recommend transfers by a local driver.

If you wish to rent a car for the duration of your vacation our Representative can arrange for one to be delivered to Louis Villa, some rental companies will pick you up and take you to Dominica’s capital city Roseau to collect your rental car in daylight hours.

Driving in Dominica has greatly improved since the government has upgraded the highway. However, some of to the village roads can be demanding and requires additional/considerable attention and concentration. Note that traffic drives on the LEFT side of the road here; consequently, car steering wheels are located on the RIGHT side of the vehicle. If arriving from America or other countries where traffic moves on the right, this is exactly the opposite of what you are used to and is trickier than you might expect.
